Organic Dulse is a soft seaweed with a very special unique spicy taste. It can be used to prepare a variety of soups and condiments and side dishes. Cooked briefly it combines well with onions and makes a tasty accompaniment for oat and grain dishes. After a short soaking it can be added to a variety of salads, giving it a splash of color and an extra supply of nutrients.

CHARACTERISTICS

DULSE (PALMARIA PALMATA) is a red seaweed belonging to the Class Rhodophyceae, it has a beautiful red-purple color. It is native to the North Atlantic.

NUTRITIONAL VALUES

ORGANIC DULSE seaweed is naturally rich in Mineral Salts. The concentration in Mineral Salts is exceptionally high: 112 minerals and Trace Elements are present. It especially contains Potassium (its concentration is 34 times that of bananas), Iron, Copper, Zinc, Phosphorus, Calcium and Magnesium.

DULSE seaweed contains Beta Carotene, Alpha Carotene and their hydroxylated derivatives (Zeaxanthin, Lutein). Vitamin B6, B12, E, and Vitamin C. Vitamin C strengthens the immune system, activates intestinal absorption of Iron, controls connective tissue and bone tissue matrix formation, and also acts as a radical scavenger, regenerating the Vitamin E pool.

PROPERTIES

Its main use in nutrition is known to naturally supplement Dietary Mineral Salts. It has now been shown that even a normal balanced, thus varied and complete diet, both in terms of calories and the ratio of macro-nutrients, provides only about 80% of the recommended requirement (RDA) of certain trace elements.
